Piri-Piri

Piri-Piri Sauce

Piri-Piri is a traditional Portuguese hot sauce.
The hot chillies that make this sauce come from Africa (from former colonies of Portugal) and its flavour is different from that of all the other known chillies.
We created new recipes with this original sauce, one that is extra hot and four more varieties - different flavours with different levels of "hotness" to please all. Try them!

Trivia stuff:

Piri-Piri is the word used for describing "hot chillies" in Portuguese; it is called "African Bird's Eye" in Mozambique.
The Oxford Dictionary states that Piri-Piri is a foreign word for "a very hot sauce made with red chilli peppers", originating from Ronga, a Bantu language of southern Mozambique.
